Restaurateur, producer and actress Olga Temonen died of brain cancer in November 2025.

Author Anneli Juutilainen written by Olga Temonen. The time I got (WSOY) opens Temonen’s last days before death. The book is mostly written in the first person, but the epilogue, i.e. the final words, is written in the third person.

The book openly discusses Olga’s cancer treatments and the different stages of the disease. Olga was treated both in Finland and abroad. He was treated in Holland and Germany.

The book discusses how Olga traveled to Cologne, Germany, for treatment together with her children in the early summer of 2025. During the trip, Olga sensed that something was wrong. Earlier, he had received good news about his tumor and had been doing well.

Now, Olga couldn’t get the door code keyed into the inn’s door, no matter how hard she tried. The children also noticed their mother’s frustration in the matter. Helga’s daughter had noticed that her mother was also more tired and distant than usual. Olga’s husband Tuukka urged that Olga and the children raise the issue at the clinic. The nurses thought that Olga was just tired from the treatments, and they weren’t worried.

After returning home, Olga and Tuukka went to Meilahti Cancer Hospital for an appointment to hear the results of the latest magnetic resonance imaging. They sensed from the doctor’s essence that there would be no good news. The doctor said that the tumor was activated and that the cancer had spread.

Olga cried, Tuukka tried to hold himself together. Both felt the finality of the situation – there would be no going back from this. During the past year and a half, they had believed and trusted that Olga could live with her cancer for a long time. Now we were back at the starting point. Although Olga thought for a while that death was approaching soon, her mind quickly returned to the edge of hope, just like Tuukka’s thoughts.

Olga wanted very much to be an exception in the statistics and to keep hope alive.

When they left the doctor’s office, they called the news to Olga’s siblings and father. The news was also a shock to the family’s children. In her diary, Helga wrote: »It hurts the most for the mother, because the night before she said that she wishes the most in the world that she doesn’t have this tumor.

Most recently, Olga was given the new experimental drug ONC201 from France. Tuukka Temonen has previously said that the medicine cost 4,000 euros per month. Olga picked up the medicine together with her father during Midsummer week in Paris. On Midsummer, Olga tried to rest, because the trip had been a more difficult experience than expected.

An unexpected situation happened at Tuva’s table.

Suddenly, Olga’s eyes brightened, she looked around and seemed to be in some kind of dreamlike state. The family asked what was wrong with her, but Olga didn’t get a word said and instead waved people away from her side. He was like in some kind of euphoric state and repeated the phrase: this is good. He didn’t talk about anything else. Tuukka thought that Olga was drugged, under the influence of psychedelic substances. She radiated brightness and assurance and was quite different from just hours before. After some time, the situation returned to normal. In the evening, the family went to bed confused. The strange scene stayed on Tuuka’s mind. He thought that what had just happened predicted that Olga’s life was about to end.

Tuukka and Olga’s sister July decided that it would be good for Olga to visit the hospital. Olga, Tuukka, the family’s children and a foster child Jampa packed into the car and headed for the hospital.

During the car trip, Tuukka repeatedly asked Olga how she was doing. The others chatted harmlessly and tried to maintain a light atmosphere. When the car turned onto the road leading from Iiti to Lahti, Olga was no longer contacted. This one looked at the field outside the windows and didn’t answer when Tuukka called his name. Olga soon let out a horrified scream, and turned towards Tuukka, who was driving the car, trying to get as far away from the car window as possible – as if she had seen something there that others couldn’t see. After a while, Olga lost consciousness and had an epileptic seizure.

The family’s eldest child, Helga, called an ambulance. Father and daughter lifted Olga out of the car onto the asphalt, but Olga’s pulse could not be felt. Tuukka started CPR and Helga slowed down according to the emergency center’s instructions. Paramedics finally arrived and Olga’s pulse was found. The family followed the ambulance to the hospital.

Temoste’s family and other relatives had already said goodbye to Olga, but eventually her condition improved. He was able to move his body again and speak a little. Olga was in the hospital for a few weeks until she was able to go home. He enjoyed the summer in the swimming pool, because it was there that he could better control his cancer-ridden body. At the same time, however, it became difficult to move around, and he could no longer imagine going back to work at his restaurant.

The book also reveals that Olga had another epileptic seizure at home in late summer.

In September, Olga’s childhood friends visited Olga. In October, Olga was seen Cancel– at the film’s invited guest night together with his family. This was Olga’s last public appearance. At the beginning of November, Olga Veerasister arrived in Finland from France, after which Olga’s health collapsed.

Olga’s hospice care began in mid-November, when a pain pump was installed. For a couple of weeks already, Olga had been lying peacefully in her bed, almost unconscious. Only for short moments did he regain consciousness among the others. He didn’t seem to be in pain. A small group of those closest to him still went to say goodbye to him. On her last night, Olga slept in Tuukka’s tight embrace. In the wee hours of the morning, Tuukka knew from Olga’s breathing that time was running out. »Kota can still make it until morning so that the children can sleep», Tuukka whispered in Olga’s ear.

Olga died at her home in Iiti on November 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.

At 9:26 Olga fell asleep. Before the funeral home arrived, Tuukka and the children bathed her and put on a summer dress and woolen socks. Helga and Hilma chose earrings for their mother and applied lipstick to her. Into the trunk they packed a Henry soft toy, the tail of the beloved Elho horse and a formula themed Max Verstappen pillow that Olga had once bought for herself. It was time for Olga to leave.
