Bol impresses at FBK Games, Dutch record for shot putter Schilder | NOW

Femke Bol convincingly won the 400 meter hurdles at the FBK Games on Monday. The Olympic bronze winner won the event in 53.94 seconds. In the shot put, Jessica Schilder improved her own Dutch record.

With a time of 53.94 seconds, 22-year-old Bol ran the fastest 400 meter hurdles ever in Hengelo. De Amersfoortse ran her first 400 meters of the season in the Fanny Blankers-Koen Stadium and made a strong impression, especially in the first part of the race.

Thanks to that strong opening, Bol had little to fear from the competition. Anna Rizhikova from Ukraine finished second in the race within a street length of 55.62.

Last week in Ostrava, Bol already showed her form on the obsolete 300 meter hurdles. With a time of 36.86 seconds she took almost 1.5 seconds off the world record at this distance.

Bol’s main goal during the FBK Games was to gain competition rhythm. The Dutchman has already met the limits for the World Cup in the American Eugene (July) and the European Championship in Munich (August).
