INGELHEIM (dpa-AFX) – The pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim made more sales with its medicines for humans and animals in 2025. Two new drugs have been launched: one for lung cancer in the US and one for pulmonary fibrosis in the US and China, the company announced on Wednesday.
According to the company, revenue increased by 7.3 percent after adjusting for currency effects to 27.8 billion euros. Investments in research and development increased from 6.2 billion to 6.4 billion euros. Boehringer Ingelheim did not provide any information about profits.
In the case of pharmaceutical products for humans, the business with drugs for the treatment of kidney diseases, type 2 diabetes and heart failure in particular ensured sales growth.
In the area of animal health, drugs for the treatment and prevention of parasitic infestations were the growth driver. The company also works closely with farmers, veterinarians and authorities to combat notifiable animal diseases such as bird flu, foot-and-mouth disease and bluetongue virus./glb/DP/stw
