The surfer was found after the police received a report that a body was floating in the Grevelingenmeer. The police arrived at the scene with a police helicopter. The KNRM of Ouddorp was deployed around 1.30 pm to recover the body. The surfer was taken to the working port of Bruinisse where the police could start the forensic investigation. In the course of the evening, the identity of the surfer became clear.
The location and harbor have been largely shielded.
