In Gesves, a municipality near Namur, the lifeless body of a woman was found last Saturday. The body of the eighty-year-old (the lady was born in 1939) was in her home, the Namur public prosecutor’s office reported on Tuesday. It is striking that the woman had been deceased for several months. The son who lived with her is suspected.
The police were alerted by a grandson. During a home visit to the home of the elderly woman in the rue de Brionsar, agents then made the macabre discovery. It was clear that the woman had died some time ago.
Continue to collect pension
The investigating judge arrested the son (born in 1971) on Monday after questioning. On the one hand, the fifty-year-old is suspected of denying care and nutrition to his mother, who is considered a vulnerable person, as a result of which her health was compromised.
The court also rubbed him into continuing to collect her pension after she died.
