The body of the missing 20-year-old daam from Hooghalen has been found. The police report tonight that they have found a deceased person in the vicinity of the Bosweg in Gasselte.
Daam was last seen in Marwijksoord on 5 March. He left walking and since then nothing was heard of him. The police and family were immediately worried.
Among other things with a sonar boat and possibly an underwater drone, the man was searched for. The search concentrated today, just like yesterday, around the Pacific. This is a sand excavation just west of the Gasselterveld and the Nije Hemelriekje.
Around 6 p.m. the police found Diëm tonight. His identity has now also been established. There was no crime, the police said.
In the past week, more than a thousand volunteers have worked to find diedm in the area around ‘t Gasselterveld. This is evident from data from the Samen Zoek app, which was used to coordinate the search.
During the search, images of the missing man were shared. “We remove this and we ask everyone who shared the images to do the same. We thank everyone for sharing the images, tips and other information,” said the police on X.
