In the search for the missing children Jeffrey (10) and Emma (8), the police found bodies in a car in the water at an industrial estate in Winschoten. The Groningen police report this in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. The car was found on Tuesday evening around 8.30 pm and since then the surroundings of the canal on the Renselweg in Winschoten had been deposited for research.
According to the police, this is a car “of a similar type” like that of the father of the children and there are “multiple bodies.”
The car is ‘with great care’ from the water for research. A police spokesman tells the ANP news agency “that we must take into account the scenario that it can be about Jeffrey and Emma.”
Farewell letter
The children have been missing since Saturday afternoon and were probably taken by their 67-year-old father in a gray Toyota Avensis. On the basis of a farewell letter that the man wrote, the police have indications that he wanted to rob himself and his children of life.
