Bobic wants to get Hertha BSC out of the “vicious circle”.

Sports director Fredi Bobic wants to break up the encrusted structures at Bundesliga club Hertha BSC, which is in danger of being relegated.

The club is “ultimately in a vicious circle of high expectations, public noise, disappointed sporting hopes and many personnel changes,” said the 50-year-old in an interview with the “Stuttgarter Zeitung” and the “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”. Hertha had to break out of this “vicious circle”.

Before the basement duel against his former club VfB Stuttgart at the end of the 31st matchday on Sunday (5:30 p.m. / DAZN), the former international pointed out the abuses that he has noticed since taking office last summer: “The tonality and the volume that sometimes prevail around the club are certainly not conducive to a performance culture, that urgently needs to change. But I see it as a constant challenge.”

Bobic announced a “big change” for the professional team after the season: “Our goal must be the top half of the table. That’s the foundation for being able to tackle other goals at some point.” However, he urged patience: “Success is only possible through organic growth, you can’t buy that with money. That has never worked in football.”
