Bleeding gums: why they mostly affect Generation Z

Pperfect in selfies, very careful about skin, hair and social media smile. But when we’re actually talking about oral healthGeneration Z seems to have a blind spot. According to a new investigation promoted by Italian Society of Periodontology and Implantology (SIdP)beyond 1 in 3 young people between the ages of 20 and 30 suffer from bleeding gumsthe first sign of inflammation which, if neglected, can evolve into periodontitis and even lead to tooth loss. A fact that is surprising above all because it concerns the age group most attentive to aesthetics. The research, presented in Florence during SIdP Refresher Course and made by Keystone on a sample of 3,000 adult Italians, in fact tells a very contemporary contradiction: the mouth is experienced above all as an aesthetic elementbut not enough as an integral part of overall health.
