Bla Bla Babybetween Look Who’s Talking and the cynicism of Ted

Because Bla Bla Baby isn’t it the usual Italian comedy? First of all because it is imbued with tasteful special effects: children speak thanks to the miracle of technology. The other aspect, not least, is the fact that the film harks back to the family comedies of the Eighties at the Look Who’s Talking. You remember John Travolta struggling with Mickey who had the voice of Paolo Villaggio?

Not only that, here i children are also cynical: they don’t take anything to speak ill of parents and to lash out at their absurd behavior. Fausto Brizzi look at the cynicism of Tedeven if the teddy bear is much more foul-mouthed. “If there will be a Bla Bla Baby 2 – the director hopes – I’d like to play more on them unscrupulous“. Which is the funniest and most subtle aspect of the film, because behind the criticism of children there is a bitterness reflection on the role of parents.

Children judge the world of adults

Fausto Brizzi uses the little protagonists and their voices to judge the world of adults, «To make us say what we usually never tell each other. Often as adults we are not aware of how much children observe us and, often, we do not set a good example “, Brizzi continues. «For example, with technology. Even small children use it, without the parents really considering the risks ».

Bla Bla Baby it’s also an “action” comedy

Bla Bla Baby it makes you laugh a lot but, at a certain point, it also takes a turn action. When Luca discovers the diabolical plan of CEO Matteo tries to hunt him down with a platoon of children where everyone has their own task. Everyone is dressed in red overalls and the citation of The paper house it’s explicit and hilarious. How hilarious is the interpretation of Alessandro Preziosi that Brizzi would like to see more often in our comedies.
