For some time Telstar seemed to be doing well in the fishermen’s derby against FC Volendam. But in the final phase, trainer Andries Jonker suddenly had to deal with the injury ghost. Yaël Liesdek and Redouan Taha El Idrissi had to deal with physical setbacks in no time.
Liesdek came in for Anthony Berenstein in the 76th minute. The defender was already struggling with an Achilles tendon injury within a minute and had to leave again. His replacement was Redouan Taha El Idrissi and he was not spared either. He broke his metacarpal bone in the match, but was able to finish the match.
According to Jonker, Liesdek’s injury looks very serious at first glance. If it turns out that the initial findings are correct, it could well be the end of the season for the defender.
