Midfielder Grischa Prömel from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim apparently suffered a serious injury in the Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig.
The 27-year-old, who is on the provisional list of players that national coach Flick can ultimately nominate for his squad for the World Cup in Qatar, had to be carried off the pitch after less than 15 minutes.
After an unfortunate duel, Prömel himself gestured that something was torn or broken before his right ankle was bandaged.
Prömel came to Kraichgau from Union Berlin in the summer and was one of TSG’s best regulars to date. Last Sunday he said that coach André Breitenreiter had let him know that he was on Flick’s list: “Of course I was incredibly happy.”
