At the end of November 2024, Minister Ben Weyts (N-VA) announced that the Belgian Dolfinarium must close by 2037, but Bite Back would rather see that happening earlier. The organization states that the seven dolphins in the dolphinarium live in a stressful situation.
“The animals should stay here until 2037. Twelve years is long, if you have to swim the same round every day. That is why we ask websites or companies that offer discounts for a day at Dolfinarium to stop. We hope that the Dolfinarium will no longer be financially profitable and it used to close its doors.
