The poultry farm is located in the 10 kilometer zones that were already demarcated after confirmed infections in Veurne and Warhem in northern France at the end of December.
“A large part of the protection zone of three kilometers and a surveillance zone of ten kilometers that will be established around the company therefore overlap with the existing zones and are partly located on French territory,” said a press release. Within a radius of ten kilometers, all poultry farmers, professional and private, must shield their poultry. Within a radius of three kilometers, the obligation also applies to other birds.
