The Super Bowl champion is for sale: Ten days after their great triumph, the Seattle Seahawks announced that the NFL franchise would go to a new owner.

It is expected that a sum of seven to eight billion dollars will be raised for the title winner.

The “sales process” has been initiated, the franchise announced on Wednesday. The step fulfills Paul Allen’s wishes.

Before his death in 2018, the Microsoft co-founder decided that the Seahawks would be sold and the entire amount raised would be donated to charity.

There had already been reports of an impending sale before Super Bowl LX (60) against the New England Patriots in Santa Clara, California (29:13), but the Seahawks denied it at the time. Now it comes to this.

Paul Allen took over the Seahawks in 1997 for $200 million. After his death, his sister Jody was appointed executor of the estate.

In 2014, Seattle achieved its first Super Bowl victory, now its second.
