Billie Eilish makes her acting debut in the Amazon Prime series Swarm of Bees. The streaming provider shared a short teaser on Twitter yesterday (March 16) in which Billie Eilish interacts with the leading lady played by Dominique Fishback.

“We were really interested in creating a story about an anti-hero,” showrunner Janine Nabers told Vanity Fair. She and Donald Glover developed the seven-part series. They also took inspiration from “Mad Men” and “The Sopranos”, but updated the storyline “through the eyes of a black, modern woman”.

In the series we accompany the protagonist Dre, who, as a great admirer of a singer reminiscent of Beyoncé, belongs to the fans known as “swarm” and in doing so comes up against limits and possibly beyond. With the participation of Billie Eilish, you create a “meta-level comment about fandom and followers,” Glover is quoted as saying.

After a speaking role on The Simpsons, the 21-year-old is now making her acting debut in a supporting role. She had been interested in it for a long time, which prompted casting director Carmen Cuba to bring the musician in front of the camera. She last released the two “Guitar Songs” in 2022 with “TV” and “The 30th”.
