Johnny de Mol gets a big kick after from Angela de Jong. The AD dragon declares his talk show HLF8 the biggest flop of the TV season. “I really expected more from it.”
There are few people in Hilversum with such big blinders on as Johnny de Mol. The presenter is struggling with a very violent leaked report of aggravated assault and attempted murder, but thinks that he can happily make a talk show on SBS 6 again after the summer.
Flop of the year
Apart from that declaration, Angela de Jong thinks it would be better if Johnny throws in the towel. She declares HLF8 the TV flop of the season. “What I really thought was a flop was the talk show Johnny. Oh, HLF8, yes, sorry”, says the opinion diva in the AD Media podcast†
She continues: “I also expected a bit more because of the team that was behind it – Jeroen Pauw makes this. And also expected that they would guide him a bit more and that you would see some progression over the course of the season.”
No progression
There was just really no progress, according to Angela. “The only progression you saw was the number of tears he shed when his family was once again discredited. Yes, that really disappointed me.”
Johnny thinks she’s just unsuitable. “Johnny is too light for an interview about Ukraine or anything in politics. That is of course a bit spiced up with sidekicks and regulars who say something about politics. Yes, for the rest, when it comes to the very light, it is mainly his circle of friends and family who come by.”
That’s nothing, Angela decides. “Then there’s something very incestuous about it.”
