The data breach targeting the central government affects the staff of all ministries, the Government informs.
A data breach was detected in the mobile device management service produced by Valtori last Friday.
According to the Norwegian State Agency, the perpetrator of the data breach got hold of information used in the service, such as name, email address, phone number and device information. According to current information, data stored on mobile devices has not been compromised.
– We take data breaches seriously and cooperate with Valtori in solving the case. According to current information, the data breach does not concern information that would endanger the operations of the ministries, says the head of the department of the Prime Minister’s Office Max Hamberg in the bulletin.
The investigation has revealed that information has been compromised much more extensively than previously found, and the attack has compromised the user data of approximately 50,000 devices in the state administration. Valtori previously said that the attacker got hold of data on 20,000 devices.
Iltalehti could not reach Valtori or the Government Office to comment on the matter on Friday evening.
The Central Criminal Police is responsible for the investigation of the data breach.
