Marbella (AP) – DFB director Oliver Bierhoff expects a “beautiful” Champions League final between Liverpool FC and Real Madrid.
“Liverpool is usually my favourite,” said the 54-year-old at the national team training camp in Marbella. For him, that’s also down to the coach: “It’s always impressive how Jürgen Klopp manages to cheer on his team and put the opponent under pressure at top speed.”
Bierhoff also sees very good title chances for record winners Real Madrid on Saturday (9 p.m.) in Paris. “With what Real have done in the Champions League and how they eliminated three big teams, it will be an open game,” Bierhoff believes. Real have very experienced players, including 32-year-old ex-national player Toni Kroos. “I’m happy for Toni that he’s another German player in the final.”
