US President Joe Biden told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Washington would not deploy offensive strike weapons in Ukraine. This was told by the aide to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov after a telephone conversation between the heads of the two states, reports TASS

“The main point that sounded from the American side during this conversation was that President Biden clearly stated that the United States did not intend to deploy offensive strike weapons in Ukraine,” Ushakov said.

Putin called this moment one of the key ones that were included in the projects on security guarantees transferred to the US and NATO and on which Russia wants to conduct substantive negotiations, the presidential aide added.
