The missing piece of cycle path near Linde on the route between Zuidwolde and Dedemsvaart is coming. The city council agrees with more than a quarter of a million euros for the construction of 190 meters of cycle path.
The 270,000 euros is needed to construct a cycle path between the bicycle bridge over the N48 and the built -up area of Linde. Extra money was needed due to price increases. The Linderweg is shifted slightly for the cycle path, and there will also be a footpath desired by the village.
Earlier this month, all parties in the city council announced that they were happy with the construction of the cycle path. Last week they finally agreed with the required extra budget.
Initially, the municipality focused on expanding the built -up area, but in 2022 the city council put a stop to that, via a motion from Gemeentebelangen. Alderman Turksma was instructed to do everything in its power to construct a cycle path. With the extra budget he can fulfill that wish.
Many high school students who attend school in Dedemsvaart use the cycle route. In recent years, it was focused on making the route safer.
For example, a bicycle bridge came over the N48 after a long bicycle bridge. It was recently renamed the Moerenveen. That historic name was conceived by Lindenaar Bram Luten and refers to the peat and swamp.
