Biathlete Johannes Kühn dated his end of his career in the greatest success of his career. The career should not end immediately. But, he revealed after his relay medal: “This is my last World Cup.”
After the surprising win of World Cup bronze with the German season, biathlete Johannes Kühn has almost casually announced his plans for a career end after the 2026 Winter Olympics.
“I have been with every major event since 2018, this is my last World Cup, and I get a medal in my last race”said the 33-year-old in Lenzerheide in Switzerland. On request, Kühn explained: “My plan goes until Olympics 2026. Plans can change, but now the plan is so.”
Kühn: “incredibly proud”
According to this, he will end his active career with the winter games in Italy after the 2025/2026 season. “Probably yes”he said. Kühn won his first medal in Switzerland at a World Cup and then broke out in tears. The special moment took the elders very emotionally in the German team. “Sitting here now and celebrating with the boys and the whole team is the greatest thing that I have achieved. I am extremely proud of it”said Kühn.
