At 35, the queen of Italian biathlon is back on the top step of the podium, winning in Öestersund two and a half years after her last victory, which also came in the Swedish town. A success achieved with just three tenths of an advantage over the surprising Finnish Leinamo, the result of a last lap with full thrust on the skis and the usual speed of shooting execution. “I never imagined I would win again” said the Italian, who achieved her first World Cup success in Oestersund on 3 December 2015, precisely ten years ago.
