Biathlon live: Ruhpolding relay 4x6km (women) in the live ticker | Jan 10, 2024 2:30 p.m

15:17

Sixth shooting

What’s going on at the shooting range now? Preuß remains error-free again! Together with Sweden we go back on the rounds shortly before France. Gasparin is allowed back on the track after a spare, Juppe remains faultless.
That was a really strong performance from Preuß here!

3:15 p.m

Switzerland still there

Aita Gasparin is currently running a somewhat lonely race in fifth place. Anna Juppe, on the other hand, can run on the eight together with Davidova.

15:14

A trio at the top

Chauveau can catch up with the two leaders. The trio in front can now ensure that they put some space between themselves and the others. But first you need to shoot cleanly.

15:12

Preuss in front

Together with Mona Brorsson, Franziska Preuß returns to the lap as the leader. Sophie Chauveau and Rebecca Passler follow shortly behind.

15:11

Fifth shooting

Franzi Preuß lays down on the shooting mat and delivers impeccable shooting! Aita Gasparin has to reload once, but can then run. Anna Juppe a little further back also stays clean and can quickly get back on the track.

3:08 p.m

Italy collected

It can happen that quickly! The chasing group has overtaken Italy and is now in front as a large group. The Germans’ skis seem to be very good again if you look at Franzi Preuß here. Aita Gasparin is also in this leadership group. Austria is in seventh place.

3:06 p.m

Second change

Vitozzi sends Passler on his way first, Switzerland passes to two, eight seconds behind. Sophia Schneider came in almost at the same time and was able to send Franziska Preuß off. That was a great group of Häcki-Groß and Schneider! Norway moves to 13th place.

3:03 p.m

Teamwork from Germany and Switzerland

Schneider and Häcki-Groß are traveling together and can therefore make up time and are moving forward rather than backwards! Noteworthy: Yuliia Dzhima will most likely hand over the Ukrainian relay in second or third place.

3:01 p.m

Fourth shooting

Vitozzi has to reload twice, but still quickly goes back into the round. But Sophia Schneider doesn’t have to hide either! We get back on track without any mistakes. After two reloads, Häcki-Groß goes out almost at the same time as the German. Anna Gandler brings Austria to seventh place after shooting

14:58

Vitozzi is expanding

The Italian is going strong and can extend her lead to around eleven seconds. By the way, Norway is now almost two minutes behind.

14:57

Field a little apart

The leaders’ fast and strong shooting spread the field a bit. Schneider is now 20 seconds behind again, but that doesn’t mean anything. Lena Häcki-Groß is in fifth place.

2:55 p.m

Third shooting

Is the field re-sorting? Sophia Schneider remains error-free, as does Lena Häcki-Groß. Anna Gandler has to reload, but is allowed to return to the round without turning off. Lisa Vittozzi put the Italian relay team in the lead with strong shooting.

14:52

Tailor strong

This is a strong first round from Sophia Schneider. She makes things better second by second. Hopefully this will also go smoothly at the shooting range. But Switzerland and Austria can also catch up.

2:50 p.m

Trio at the top

The trio from Sweden, France and Ukraine are still traveling together. Only about ten seconds later do the next two arrive, Sophia Schneider is also there and has already made up a few seconds.

2:48 p.m

First change

The Swedish relay team changes first, closely followed by France. Janina Hettich-Walz gives Sophia Schneider 18 seconds. Austria changes 25 seconds after the lead, Switzerland is already half a minute behind. A surprise is Ukraine, which changes here on the three.

2:47 p.m

No major changes at the front

Meanwhile, not much has changed at the front of the field. The order has changed a bit, but everything is still pretty close together.

2:45 p.m

Austria in midfield

Lisa Theresa Hauser is currently in ninth place and will probably be handed over there. Switzerland is on the way to eleven.

2:44 p.m

Ukraine continues to lead

Even after the second shooting, the Ukraine relay team still leads the field. Sweden, France and Canada are also at the forefront. Hettich-Walz is twelve seconds behind.

2:43 p.m

Second shooting

And just like that the field is back in the stadium and ready for standing shooting. Hettich-Walz has to reload twice and can then return to the round. Austria feels the same way. Norway has to go into the penalty loop twice!

2:40 p.m

Large group at the front

Marit Ishol Skogan is now leading the field. But she is accompanied by Anna Magnusson, Janina Hettich-Walz and Iryna Petrenko. Lisa Theresa Hauser is just behind in sixth place, while Elisa Gasparin has already lost something, 15 seconds behind.

2:38 p.m

First shooting

The first shooting is coming up and there are still one or two mistakes. Janina Hettich-Walz, however, remains faultless and is the first to return to the round together with the Ukrainian relay team! Switzerland and Austria are also allowed to return to the track without a penalty.

2:35 p.m

Fall of Hauser

In the middle of the crowd on the first lap, Lisa Theresa Hauser stumbles and sits briefly in the snow. But she hasn’t lost much at this point in the race.

2:33 p.m

Reasonable start

Shortly after the start, the field is of course still relatively close together. Janina Hettich is initially in fifth place. The Swiss and Austrian relay teams are four and eight

2:30 p.m

The field is on the move

The starting runners go on the first lap to the cheers of the audience in Ruhpolding.

2:25 p.m

The favorites

The clear favorites come, unsurprisingly, from Norway. The probability that Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold will be the first to cross the finish line is really high given the performance of the entire Norwegian team. But Sweden and France are also hot candidates for a place on the podium or even victory.
If everything goes well, Italy and Germany can also hope for a place on the podium. The potential for this is definitely there.

14:21

Switzerland looking forward

Switzerland has not changed its line-up, just swapped positions. Elisa Gasparin, Lena Häcki-Groß, Aita Gasparin and Amy Baserga will take to the track today. The mix of running and shooting performance should make a place in the top six possible. But here too, not too much can go wrong.

2:10 p.m

Need for improvement in Austria

Things can almost only get better for the Austrian quartet today. After the relay was lapped in Oberhof and had to end the race early, Lisa Theresa Hauser, Anna Gandler, Anna Juppe and Dunja Zdouc are supposed to take care of it today. So a slightly different setup. In terms of running and shooting, the four of them can’t quite keep up with the world’s best at the moment. A place in the top ten should be possible.

13:58

Germany with personnel changes

Janina Hettich-Walz, Sophia Schneider, Franziska Preuß and Hanna Kebinger are starting as the final runners for the DSV today. Vanessa Voigt, who was the starting runner of the relay in Oberhof, is not there this time.
If things go better overall than last week in Oberhof, the running times are right again and fewer targets are left at the shooting range, then the German women can be a candidate for the podium again today.
