Braisaz-Bouchet pulls away

It looks like a start-to-finish victory for Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, who pulls away from the front and extends her lead. Skogan and Preuß are running together, it will be exciting!

13:11

Preuß is two seconds behind Skogan

The podium is within reach! Franziska Preuß is two seconds behind Skogan, who is currently in third place.

13:10

What does Hettich-Walz do?

Now it counts for Janina Hettich-Walz! The German makes a mistake. Preuß and Skogan hit everything, Vanessa Voigt also showed an impeccable performance.

13:08

The decision

Justine Braisaz-Bouchet made it a little exciting with a mistake, but the lead should be enough. However, Simon takes risks and hits everything! This will be an exciting final round. 7.5 seconds separate the teammates.

1:07 p.m

Clear lead for Braisaz-Bouchet

Braisaz-Bouchet has a lead of 32.9 seconds over Julia Simon. For a long time there is nothing behind it – but then Janina Hettich-Walz. The German has an advantage of 15 seconds over Franziska Preuß and Marit Ishol Skogan. Tamara Steiner has made no mistakes so far and is in 20th place.

13:04

Hettich-Walz passes by!

Janina Hettich-Walz has shown a great performance so far and is now coming through without making any mistakes. This means she overtakes Elvira Öberg, who made a mistake. The third shooting went perfectly for Voigt and Preuß.

1:03 p.m

Will Braisaz-Bouchet defend the lead?

And now we’re off to the first standing shooting event! Braisaz-Bouchet hits four targets, Simon only three and also has problems setting up the weapon. But Tandrevold also misses the chance and has to go into the penalty loop three times.

1:01 p.m

Hettich-Walz Fifth

Janina Hettich-Walz is 1:22 minutes behind and is in fifth place. At the front is still the order of Braisaz-Bouchet, Simon and Tandrevold. Häcki-Groß is running in eleventh position.

12:59

Preuss with a mistake

Franziska Preuß has to go to the staf round again. Janina Hettich-Walz does better and keeps the zero – she goes on the track together with the strong Elvira Öberg. Steiner, Voigt and Häcki-Groß also cleared all the targets, Amy Baserga had to do an extra lap.

12:57

Second shooting

There have been a lot of mistakes so far. How are things going now? Braisaz-Bouchet comes to the shooting range with a small lead, but Simon and Tandrevold follow right behind. Braisaz-Bouchet sets up and hits everything, but Simon also succeeds. Tandrevold misses the third shot. Things don’t go well for Lisa Vittozzi – the Italian makes three mistakes.

12:53

Hettich-Walz error-free

Janina Hettich-Walz manages to get through without making any mistakes – and Vanessa Voigt also manages to do that. Lena Häcki-Groß makes two mistakes, Lea Meier gets through without making any mistakes. Selina Grotian has to do an extra lap.

12:51

First shooting

Justine Braisaz-Bouchet comes to shoot alone, but misses the first shot. But Tandrevold and Vittozzi also leave the first disc alone. Julia Simon can take advantage of this and make up places. Öberg even misses two goals, while Preuß drops four goals.

12:48

Tandrevold is catching up

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and Lisa Vittozzi are both catching up with Braisaz-Bouchet. Elvira Öberg has already caught up by nine seconds and is setting a fast pace. Hettich-Walz loses two seconds.

12:46

Preuss is on the way

Since the distances are large, it takes a while before Franziska Preuß is allowed onto the track. But now the time has come.

12:45

The hunt is on!

Justine Braisaz-Bouchet opens the persecution. The conditions are great, visibility is clear and there is hardly any wind. Plus, the sun is shining – so everything is set for a fantastic race.

12:41

Look at the overall ranking

The woman in yellow, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, is in a good position to defend her lead in the overall standings. However, her closest competitors for the yellow jersey, Lisa Vittozzi and Elvira Öberg, also ended up in the top five in the sprint and can make up points today. Tandrevold has 346 points, Vittozzi 309 and Elvira Öberg 273.

12:36

Swiss hopes again for Häcki-Groß

Lena Häcki-Groß was able to storm onto the podium last weekend. Things didn’t go so well for her in the sprint on Thursday; she made three mistakes. Nevertheless, she ended up in 19th place and was once again the best Swiss woman. She is one minute and 46 seconds behind the leading Frenchwoman. Amy Baserga and Lea Meier can work together because they go on the track together in just one second. Aita Gasparin will then start the pursuit from position 34, three places behind Meier.

12:30

Duo for Austria

Tamara Steiner made no mistakes in the sprint at the shooting range and was able to secure 25th place. They are two minutes and five seconds behind. Things went much worse for Anna Juppe, who had to come from behind the field in 57th place. Anna Gandler is not at the start.

12:27

Preuß with the best starting position

Franziska Preuß has the best starting position from the German team: she starts in seventh place, but she is already one minute behind Braisaz-Bouchet. Preuß could run into the Norwegian Marit Ishol Skogan, who starts four seconds ahead of her. Janina Hettich-Walz also still has a chance of a top placement in 12th place; she starts the track one minute and 29 seconds behind. With Vanessa Voigt in 21st place and Selina Grotian in 38th place, a total of four German biathletes are at the start.

12:21

Everyone is chasing Braisaz-Bouchet

Justine Braisaz-Bouchet secured victory in the sprint and is now the hunted. She is followed closest by Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold from Norway, who is 12.2 seconds behind, and the Italian Lisa Vittozzi, who takes to the track exactly five seconds after Tandrevold. Seven nations are represented in the top ten – a great sign for the sport of biathlon. The good placings of Marit Ishol Skogan, Deedra Irwin and Tereza Vobornikova were surprising – the Estonian Tuuli Tomingas in 12th was also able to achieve a respectable success.

12:15

Welcome!

After a well-deserved day’s break after the strenuous sprint, the biathletes continue today with the pursuit over ten kilometers. The starting signal sounds at 12:45 p.m.
