Biathlon legends Ole Einar Bjørndalen and Darya Domracheva are privately on cloud nine. The couple recently became parents for the second time. Now the winter sports greats have spoken again on social media.
“Gratitude to those who helped deliver our little baby,” Domracheva wrote on Instagram. In addition, the four-time biathlon Olympic champion posted a photo from the hospital in the Belarusian capital Minsk.
Domracheva thanks the staff and all the “wonderful assistants”. “Thank you for your work! You are wonderful!” Enthused the 36-year-old.
“One more miracle in our family”
Domracheva and Bjørndalen have been married since 2016. A few months after the wedding, they welcomed their first daughter into the family circle. Together, the couple has won 22 gold medals at biathlon world championships and twelve Olympic victories.
Domracheva and Bjørndalen are also doing well privately, recently welcoming their second child together. “One more miracle in our family,” the two biathlon icons welcomed their second daughter in an Instagram post last Monday evening.
Biathlon greats send their congratulations
The congratulations from the biathlon world were not long in coming. Two other legends of the sport, Tiril Eckhoff and Marte Olsbu Røiseland, were among the first to wish well. Other still active and former biathlon professionals joined.
“We don’t have a name yet. It’s a bit difficult. We’ll use the next few days to find one. We have a few options,” Bjørndalen told TV2 a few days ago. It is not publicly known whether anything has changed in the meantime.
