The German duos each reached the podium at the biathlon show in Schalke.
Justus Strelow and Anna Weidel took second place in the traditional World Team Challenge in the final pursuit after five penalties, followed by World Cup leader Franziska Preuß with Philipp Nawrath (three penalties).
In an exciting race, the battle remained open for a long time behind the Norwegians Karoline Offigstadt Knotten and Sturla Holm Lägreid, who were at the front.
The DSV teams held their own in the final lap. But the Germans still have to wait for a victory in the Ruhr area. Simon Schempp and Vanessa Hinz last won for DSV in 2016.
The German biathletes will now continue with two home games after the turn of the year. First, the start of the second trimester awaits in Oberhof (January 9th to 12th). A week later, Ruhpolding (January 15th to 19th) completed the German double pack.
