On May 31, the verdict against Lina E. (28) and three other autonomists from Berlin and Leipzig will fall in Dresden. They are accused of attacks on neo-Nazis in Leipzig, Wurzen and Eisenach. In left-wing extremist circles, there is a nationwide mobilization for “Day X” – also in the capital.
State security officials from the LKA have been evaluating the calls and discussions about the process on the Internet for months, and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is also focusing more on the scene and the debate surrounding the verdict date. The situation can be described as tense, according to security circles.
“The focus will certainly be Leipzig, there will be demonstrations there next Saturday,” says an LKA official, “but of course the mobilization has long since reached Berlin.”
The “Free Lina” graffiti on house walls in the city and banners at demonstrations – most recently on May 1st – could not be overlooked.
On “Day X” it is said in a situation analysis by the police that there could also be spontaneous elevators in Berlin, among other things. Criminal offenses – especially damage to property – must be expected. The scene announced one million euros in property damage for every year in prison.
However, the police in the capital will be prepared: the number of officers deployed will be “raised”, as it is said. Plainclothes police officers primarily have scene meeting points and objects such as “Rigaer94” in their sights. Space protection strips are increasingly used. “The focus will certainly be in the night hours,” said the LKA official. On Saturday, members of the scene are expected to leave for Leipzig.
Student Lina E. has been on trial with her alleged accomplices – Jannis R., Lennart A. and Philipp M. – since 2021. The process takes place under the highest security precautions. The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office accuses them of beating up and seriously injuring several right-wing extremists between 2018 and 2020.
They are also accused of forming a criminal organization, headed by Lina E.. Eight years in prison were requested for her.
According to the federal prosecutor’s office, the three men accused should go to prison for between two years and nine months and three years and nine months.
