Simone Rocha brought her first menswear collection to the big stage at Pitti Uomo, reflecting contemporary masculinity.
The Irish designer showed her Spring/Summer 2027 looks as a guest designer at the Florentine men’s fashion fair in the magnificent theater hall of the Teatro della Pergola on Thursday evening. The founder of the London label of the same name staged her idea of men’s fashion with a mixture of modern tailoring, workwear and soft accents.
Dark suits, consisting of wide jackets with daisy snaps and wide trousers in various lengths, were loosened up in styling – with silky, white tops with ruffle details and subtle ornamental embroidery. Color accents in red and purple are the exception in the collection.
Various aprons, ranging from robust leather versions to the historical workwear of domestic workers, illustrate the far-reaching influences of workwear in menswear and at the same time question classic gender roles.
Floral motifs as prints and knits, feather boas and pearl details rounded off the collection.
