Borja Iglesias put Betis ahead in the 11th minute, Hugo Duro equalized before the break (30th). 19-year-old Yunus Musah missed Valencia’s fourth penalty, Juan Miranda then coldly converted Betis’ crucial fifth try.
Record cup winners FC Barcelona had already been eliminated in the round of 16.
