Igor Milicic, Croatian-born Polish coach, has been appointed as the Head Coach of Beşiktaş Emlakjet Men’s Basketball Team. Igor Milicic is also the head coach of the Poland National Basketball Team.
In the statement made by the black and white team, the expressions “We welcome Igor Milicic, who we believe will provide important services to our club, to the Beşiktaş Family and wish him success in his endeavours.”
WHO IS IGOR MILICIC?
Born on June 9, 1976, Igor Milicic started his coaching career in Poland’s AZS Koszalin team in the 2013-2014 season. Milicic, who took on the task of assistant coach here, was promoted to Head Coach in March of the same season. He started to work as the Head Coach of the Anwil Wloclawek team, where he will win championships in the 2015-2016 season. Igor Milicic, who won the Polish League championships with Wloclawek in 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2020-2021, was named the best coach of the year in Poland 3 times during these years. He won the Polish Cup in 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, and the Polish Super Cup in the 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 seasons. Igor Milicic, who started to work in the Polish team Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski in the 2020-2021 season, played the FIBA Europe Cup Final for his team in the 2020-2021 season, and Milicic was once again named the coach of the year in Poland. Igor Milicic took on the task of Head Coach of the Polish National Team in the 2021-2022 season. He led the Polish National Team to the semi-finals of FIBA EuroBasket 2022.
