Berlin and Herrsching in the final of the DVV Cup

Defending champions Berlin Recycling Volleys and WWK Volleys Herrsching will play the winner in the 2024 DVV Cup. While the series champions from the capital are reaching for their seventh title in Mannheim on March 3rd, the Upper Bavarians are in the final for the first time.

Berlin won the top game against SVG Lüneburg in the Max-Schmeling-Halle after some difficulties with 3:2 (25:20, 21:25, 25:16, 16:25, 15:9) and added the second place in the Bundesliga first defeat after nine wins in a row across all competitions. National player Ruben Schott earned top marks from the Berliners despite his attacking rate being improved.

In Hildesheim, the guests from Herrsching gave Helios Grizzlys Giesen, who also recently won nine matches in a row, a lesson. Four weeks after a hard-fought 3:2 in the league, Lower Saxony didn’t have the slightest chance at 0:3 (20:25, 14:25, 14:25).
