Bergzeit starts on its second-hand platform with children’s clothing

The second-hand platform of the multichannel outdoor retailer Bergzeit near Munich is expanding its range to include used children’s clothing.

The children’s shop is part of the “Bergzeit Re-Use” online shop for adults launched in summer 2022, the first professional second-hand platform specifically for outdoor clothing. There, consumers and, more recently, families will find everything they need for a trip into nature: jackets, trousers, sweatshirts, shoes and equipment such as hiking backpacks or bicycle bags from well-known brands such as Patagonia, Ortovox, Maloja, Salewa, Mammut or Vaude.

This is how Bergzeit Re-Use works: Customers can register used outdoor clothing from almost all brands available on the market in the online portal and send it in free of charge. It doesn’t matter where the clothing was bought. The articles are then checked. If the clothes are broken, they will be recycled or donated after consultation with the customers. Items that are in good condition are processed and resold in the second-hand shop. In addition, intact returned goods are sold in the shop, which Bergzeit receives back through its regular shop, but can no longer offer as new goods there.

“Children are our customers of tomorrow – that’s why it was so important for us to expand the second-hand range for the younger generation. With our experience and expertise as a mountain sports retailer, we know the needs of outdoor-loving families. Already in the first few weeks we can see that the children’s program is very well received by both sellers and buyers – we are on the right track and see the topic of second-hand in the outdoor area as a future model,” says Christina Stahl, Channel Manager Bergzeit Re-Use.

Bergzeit GmbH, based in the south of Munich, has been part of SüdtirolerSportler AG since 2012.
