Bergenaar caught driving without a driver’s license for the fourteenth time

Officers in Bergen op Zoom caught a man driving without a driver’s license for the fourteenth time on Friday evening. The car he was driving was also found to be uninsured and has been seized.

Surveillance officers saw him driving through Ten Hovestraat around half past six, the man was arrested on Prinses Beatrixlaan. “He immediately raged at the officers in a rude way. Because he screamed like that, a crowd of local residents started. The man continued to curse the officers and called the action of the agents racist,” according to the police.

The 29-year-old Bergenaar was transferred to a police cell complex, where he spent the night. A statement was taken on Saturday. He denies driving the car. The car was seized after consultation with the public prosecutor.

The man was released on Saturday afternoon. A case has been registered against him. Two officers reported assault.
