On Monday (June 2), Chilly Gonzales will play at a benefit concert in the capital in favor of humanitarian aid for Ukraine. In addition to the Canadian, Igor Levit, Malakoff Kowalski and Johanna Summer also appear. The concert is presented and organized by the Cologne aid organization “Cologne Cares Ev”.

It is not the first time that Chilly Gonzales, who lives in Cologne, plays for a benefit concert for Ukraine. Already in 2023 he was part of such a concert in the historic Sancta Clara cellar in Cologne. This time there are other artists.
Igor Levit is there, celebrated German-Russian pianist and internationally. He is politically committed and is constantly committed to discrimination and anti -Semitism.
Malakoff Kowalski, German-American-Persian composer, is also part of the evening program. His work includes theater, film and soloclavi music. Most recently, he released the album Song with Words.
Johanna Summer is considered one of the most exciting jazz pianists in her generation. Your current EP Upright combines its own compositions with jazz standards and classic quotations.
Tickets, location and admission
The gig will take place on June 2 in the Salon of the Orania Hotel in Berlin-Kreuzberg, which provides its premises for the evening. The organists describe it as an “intimate concert evening”. Admission is from 7:30 p.m., starting at 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost around 165.00 euros and are here available.

“Cologne Cares Ev” is an aid organization based in Cologne that provides support in war and crisis areas. It was founded by journalist Kristina Koch and engineer Mowafaq Abdulmuati. In Ukraine, the organization provides hospitals and emergency shelters with urgently needed relief goods.
