After the riots in Brussels following the cup final in football, the idea again appears to recover safety costs from events organizers. Minister of the Interior Bernard Quintin (MR) is talking about ‘payment police’. “He wanders when he thinks such a thing is a good idea,” writes investigative journalist Jeroen Bossaert. “Safety is pre -eminently a core task of the government. The very last thing it has to do is end up with an extra police bill for individual citizens and companies.”
