Parts of South Africa are groaning under exceptionally heavy rainfall. In the world-famous Kruger Park, downpours have swollen rivers into raging bodies of water, causing major damage to bridges and roads and a large-scale evacuation of tourists. Some compatriots are still stuck and cut off from the outside world. “In the meantime, there will be rain until at least Monday, but that is not the biggest problem. It is the water from the mountains that they fear most,” says Tiziana Troukens from South Africa.
