The Belgian ornithologist Philippe Verbelen, together with a couple of international colleagues, has discovered a new bird species on the island of Babar in Indonesia. This is apparent from an article that was recently published in the Bulletin of the British Ornithologist Club. According to Verbelen, no more than ten new birds are discovered worldwide a year.
