The collision between the car and the cyclist happened around 2:30 am. The man was seriously injured and died despite a resuscitation attempt by the emergency services. Many emergency services attended the collision, including an air ambulance.
The driver of the car is a 70-year-old man from Texel. The police say that according to protocol he will be summoned to the police station for questioning.
