It is the first training in the Basketzaal of Ostend for national coach Mike Thibault. The American top coach of 74 signed a contract up to and including the 2028 Olympic Games, in Los Angeles.
Thibault was general manager at the Washington Mystics and is therefore no stranger to Julie Vanloo, who was working in the WNBA at the Mystics last year. “He doesn’t think we should change our philosophy or game style. He wants to make us more efficient as a team. He thinks we are sometimes a bit too good,” says Vanloo.
