Belgian (50) arrested for fraud of millions in the parking of Alicante airport | Abroad

A Belgian has been arrested in Alicante for fraud worth more than a million euros. The man used a system of fake license plates that allowed him to leave cars in the airport parking lot for months without paying. Many Belgians with a second residence in Spain left their car at PDC (50) when they returned to Belgium. They paid him for that, but he just parked their car in the airport parking lot without paying. The money disappeared into his pockets.

PDC (50) has one or more warehouses near the airport where many Belgians with a second residence in Spain deliver their car when they come to Belgium. When they come back to Spain, PDC (50) makes sure that their car is ready, cleanly washed.

Last week, however, there was sudden panic among dozens of second residents, after it turned out that ‘De Lange’ did not show up with a few cars. One of the victims inquired with the police, who said that PDC (50) had been arrested.

In the meantime, the Spanish police have announced how things are going. “It started when security guards at Alicante airport discovered irregularities in the airport parking lot,” ABC reports. “The judicial police then launched an investigation.”

The Belgian had devised a well-thought-out system. He put a fake number plate on his customers’ cars and drove into the airport parking lot. He then placed the false number plate on another car, which he immediately drove out of the parking lot.

In this way, it appeared to the license plate scanners in the airport parking lot that a particular car was never left in the parking lot for more than ten or fifteen minutes. In reality, the cars were parked in the airport parking lot for months or sometimes even a year.

PDC (50) was caught red-handed by the police with a folded construction with a number plate that he could quickly and without tools transfer from one car to another. The man has been using his system since 2018 and fraudulently committed more than 1 million euros.

The victims who parked their car at PDC (50) knew nothing about it. They paid him and were generally very satisfied with the services he provided and the prices he charged.
