A 34-year-old man from Beilen is suspected of online sexual abuse in eight girls. The children were between the ages of 8 and 14. This was apparent during an introductory session in the court in Assen.
The man has known that he approached the children via social media, such as Hangouts and Snapchat. He presented himself as a minor boy. He made them to sexual acts with themselves. He gave the girls assignments through chats. This happened from May 2022 to January 2024. The man is also suspected of making and possessing child pornography.
The Beilenaar spoke with the judge via a video connection. There was a communication error about the transport, so he had not been brought. The case came rolling in 2022 during another sex offense in Noord-Holland. A 12-year-old girl from Schagen had been persuaded online in that case to an appointment at the station. There she was raped by a 40-year-old man from Hilversum.
The telephone details of that victim showed that she was also a victim of online fornication by the Beilenaar. The case was transferred to the Northern Netherlands police. Several victims emerged in that case. The man from Beilen is still being investigated psychologically. He is stuck until the next session.
The substantive treatment is on April 17.
