And after 14 stages the Giro d’Italia has truly found its permanent center of gravity. However, behind him the situation is, to say the least, open for the other two steps of the podium because between second and tenth place there is less than 4 minutes of interval and therefore anything can still happen. Afonso Eulalio also defended himself with honor today and is second in the standings but should drop in the third week: in any case he has already won his Giro and if he managed to finish in the top 10 it would be a triumph. Third at the moment is Felix Gall and if he confirms the trend of being the best uphill behind Vingegaard then it is very likely that he will be second on Sunday 31 May in Rome. Thymen Arensman pays 13 seconds compared to Gall and is fully in the running given that he can also play the card of his teammate Egan Bernal to reopen the games.

In fifth and sixth place is the Red Bull duo of Jai Hindley and Giulio Pellizzari, separated by 39 seconds. From our point of view, the performance of the Marche native today was encouraging given the health problems he had. And even the white jersey at this point becomes a possible objective for Giulio. Behind them remain several outsiders, but we want to underline the great performance of Davide Piganzoli: serving Vingegaard, he still finds himself tenth of the general.
