Hours before the cup final in the Olympic Stadium in the evening, the fans of Eintracht Frankfurt in the west of the city are getting in the mood.
Thousands of fans gathered at Breitscheidplatz in Charlottenburg in the early afternoon. The place was bursting at the seams, so many fans were also on the streets.
The police therefore had the Tauentzien between Joachimsthaler Straße and Nürnberger Straße blocked for car traffic. For this reason, the X34 and M49 bus lines could not stop at the Zoologischer Garten station for the time being.
But Eintracht Frankfurt also made itself felt in other places in the capital. Whether in cafés, bars or on excursion boats.
In addition, the Goldelse got a Eintracht jersey on the Victory Column. A drone took off with the shirt and was placed in front of the statue in such a way that it looked as if the goddess of victory was wearing the Eintracht jersey – an effective advertising gimmick by the main sponsor.
So far everything has been largely peaceful. The Berlin police will be deployed with around 1,400 forces. Forces from other federal states are not among them. Each finalist was provided with 23,700 tickets. However, Eintracht expects up to 60,000 of their travel-loving followers to come to the capital.
