Beau van Erven Dorens, the 54-year-old talk show host from RTL 4, who has often been blamed lately, has had a turbulent week. One morning after presenting his talk show, he encountered an onion on the street, he writes in his AD Column. His whole piece this week is all about that vegetable.

Where did Beau see that onion? “In the middle of the road surface, between the tram rails,” he says.
According to him, no one else did anything with it. “It was pretty early and the many passers -by were in a hurry. Then you want to go to work or school and the last one you are doing is lying around vegetables.”
Beau himself just came from the gym and he only had to hurry up at his talk show in the evening. So all the time.
Shopping bag
Beau has a strong suspicion that the onion was at the top of a shopping bag and, for example, when passing a threshold, it fell out. In that case someone in Amsterdam came home without the purchased onion, he explains.
What did the presenter do with it? He picked up that onion and celebrated at home. “Tears on in my eyes. A little later the rings simmered comfortably in a layer of oil and fascinated I watched how they were arm in arm with curls of red pepper.”
