Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß – guitarist and singer of the Beatsteaks – is also a podcaster from Thursday (February 23). From then on, “Poparazzi – the story of a song” will appear once a week on all major platforms.

For each episode, Teutoburg-Weiß talks to a guest musician about a specific song. The approximately 20-minute episodes will revolve around background information, inspiration, history and anecdotes. Mine, Bela B, Charlotte Brandi, Dirk von Lowtzow and Deichkind have already been announced as guests. However, it is not yet known how many episodes will be produced or how long the project will run in total.

Many German musicians now have podcasts. The format in which you interview each other is also not new. Jan Mueller from Tocotronic follows a very similar concept with “Reflector”. However, the brevity and focus on individual songs highlight Teutoburg-Weiss’ approach.

He has moderation experience, among other things, through his collaboration with radioeins 2019. He was there for six episodes for “The show, musicians make radio”. Again and again with guests.

The current Beatsteaks album “Yours” was released in 2017. This year they will be performing at the Deichbrand, LIDO SOUNDS, LEM MUSIC, Bautz and Open Air Lumnezia festivals.
