Beatsteaks singer Arnim Teutoburger-Weiß has just released his first solo single. It’s called “Reward yourself with me” and was created with the help of his podcast “Poparazzi – the story of a song”. There is already a music video.
Since February 23, 2023, the Berliner has started his podcast “Poparazzi – the story of a song”. The approximately 20-minute episodes provide background information about popular songs. The questions are always: Who wrote it when, where and why?
“Reward yourself with me” was developed when he had KIZ over to talk about their track “Hooray the world is ending”. After the podcast recording, everyone was so inspired by the conversation that they went straight to the studio to record Teutoburg-Weiss’ solo piece. They got Porky von Deichkind to play the bass and the song was done.
According to the press release, Arnim Teutoburg-Weiss wants the track to be a reminder to spoil yourself. The lyrics read: “Reward you with me/ I’m your chauffeur/ I’ll drive you/ to the Côte d’Azur and reward you with me/ am your lemon haze and wine / you come home in the evening.”
The current album by Beatsteaks YOURS was released in 2017. This year they will be performing at the festivals Deichbrand, LIDO SOUNDS, LEM MUSIC, Bautz and the Open Air Lumnezia.
