On Thursday, 04.09.2025, the German shoe manufacturer Bär expanded its branch network by another location. In a prime location on Ludwigsplatz 1a, in the middle of Passau city center, the Swabian family company opens its 22nd branch across Germany. In the future, the Bär Manufaktur will offer its complete range of uncomfortable shoes with 100% toe freedom on around 55 square meters of sales space: from a wide range of barefoot shoes to sports and hiking models for different requirements to current fashion trends for women and men. Suitable accessories such as insoles and care products complete the offer.

Passau as the ideal location in the triad deck

For over 40 years, Bär has stood for crafted shoes with freedom of moving toe, zero heel and flexible sole – designed for a natural feeling of walking and maximum comfort. Why Bär has now chosen Passau, explains Christof Bär, owner of the second generation: “For us, Passau is the ideal location for a Bär branch for a Bär branch due to the high centrality, the catchment area to Austria and the unique location in the picturesque triad of three. Bad Griesbach and Bad Füssing make Passau the ideal shopping city. At the opening, Christof Bär will personally be on site, welcome customers with a glass of sparkling wine and are available for discussions.

Branch manager Andrea Harant, who comes from the region herself, is also particularly looking forward to the opening: “I have many years of experience in sales and thus know the wishes of our customers on site. Passau is the perfect location for me to connect my local connection with professional advice. I look forward to the new challenges and many enthusiastic bear customers.” At the start in Passau, Bär invites you from September 18, 2025 to 09.10.2025 for free foot analysis “Scan2fit”: An innovative 3D foot scan recognizes individual peculiarities and possible malpositions and provides the basis for tailor-made shoe advice. Dates can be booked online in advance on baer-schuhe.de/passau/.

With the reopening, the company from Bietigheim-Bissingen underlines its focus on inpatient trade: “We are pleased to be closer to our regular customers in the region and to win many new customers for our legendary freedom of play and quality,” says Christof Bär. In addition to the 21 branches nationwide, Bär also operates an outlet at the headquarters, which, in addition to secondary election products and special models, also runs the current collections.
