Beach Volleyball | WM: Duo Borger/Sude starts with victory

The German beach volleyball players Karla Borger and Julia Sude started the World Cup with a win.

The third-placed team won their first group game in Rome against the Poles Kinga Wojtasik/Katarzyna Kociolek 21:9, 21:13. Borger/Sude will play their second game on Sunday against the Kenyans Gaudencia Makokha and Brackcides Khadambi.

Defeat for Labor/Schulz

Chantal Labourer and Sarah Schulz, on the other hand, suffered a defeat at the start. The German champions were defeated Lezana Placette/Alexia Richard from France at 19:21, 21:15 and 8:15.

In addition, the two women duos Sandra Ittlinger/Isabel Schneider and Svenja Müller/Cinja Tillmann are in action at the World Cup. Only Nils Ehlers/Clemens Wickler, who are playing their first game on Saturday, are among the men.

48 men’s and 48 women’s teams will compete in the world championship, which will last until June 19th. First, a group phase is played with twelve groups of four teams each.
