This is what director Harm Jansen of Prince George says, looking back on the turbulent night and morning. The beach restaurant in Camperduin has been struggling for years large beach exit during storms and high water. The case was still affected by this in December last year unreachable.
Five thousand cubic meters of sand gone
Amy, the first storm this year, had already damaged the beach tent two weeks ago. Then there is new sand under and around the pavilion applied. “I think those five thousand cubic meters are gone again,” Jansen figures today.
According to the beach tent, constantly adding sand is the only solution for the short term, although it feels like carrying water to the sea. “There must be a sustainable solution. Anyone who sees this this way knows – just like us – that this cannot continue.”
That is why the sand will be replenished again after the weekend. “What the scenario for the future will be depends on the conversation we have with all the authorities involved next week. But everyone agrees that something has to change.”
